[ovirt-users] Changing Hosted-Engine RAM

2015-05-22 Thread Simon Hallam
Hi,

I was wondering if there was any way of changing the ovirt-hosted-engine VM's
RAM retrospectively?

If I try and modify the VM in the UI, I get an error:

Error while executing action:

HostedEngine:

Cannot edit VM. This VM is not managed by the engine.

Cheers,

[ovirt-users] Add RAM to Hosted Engine

2015-08-13 Thread Simon Hallam
Hi all,

We started off testing oVirt on a relatively small number of low powered
machines. Due to this, I only gave the Hosted Engine 2GB of RAM. How that we
have some more beefier hardware and are using the system more, is it possible
to retroactively add RAM to the virtual machine?

Many thanks,

Simon Hallam

Re: [ovirt-users] Add RAM to Hosted Engine

2015-08-14 Thread Simon Hallam
Thanks for this, looks like I missed the other reply (didn't seem to get your
email either Robert).

I have made these changes, and looking at the VM itself it is reporting the
correct memory[1].

However, in the browser it is still reporting as the old memory with the old
name (the VM Id matches up with the new VM id that started)[2][3]. Not sure if
it will eventually sync or not?

Cheers,

Simon

 The good news is that on 3.6 you'll be able to edit EngineVM
 configuration from the web admin interface.

Try using vm.shutdown()

Subject: [ovirt-users] Gracefully GUEST shutown via ovirt Python-SDK

Hi,

When using shutdown from ovirt manager GUI , then on a Linux Guest , I get
this massage :

System Administrator has initiated shutdown of this Virtual Machine. Virtual
Machine is shutting down."
The system is going down for power-off at Tue 2016-01-19 10:32:19 CET!

When , via ovirt Python SDK , I use this :

api = API(url=URL, username=USERNAME, password=PASSWORD, ca_file=CA_FILE)
   vm = api.vms.get(name=VM_NAME)
  print 'Stopping this VM'
  vm.stop()

Then the Guest is stopped in a 'non -gracefully » way.
Is it a way to achieve same behavior as via GUI shutdown ?

Thx for help.

Regards,

J.P. Ribeauville

I'm currently using oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.1-1.el6
The problem is I would like to backup all the VMs before I try
upgrading the hosted engine.

All of the storage domains are NFS.

Hmm, it should be starting about line 75618 of that log.

Hi,

I'm curious how we can change the email addresses that the hosted-engine-ha
