[ovirt-users] Re: Interface issue when using a macOS workstation
for spice terminal this worked like a charm for me: https://rizvir.com/articles/ovirt-mac-console/ iTerm2 is a far superior to Terminal. But as far as the web interface, it looks to me like the way the GUI (javascript?) is handling, or rather not handling CMD key press from Apple keyboards .. I think. CNTL click is understood, but to Apple CNTL+click is a right click equivalent, and I'm getting the pop up menu for oVirt VM guests: (New, Edit, Remove, Run, Suspend .. etc) vk Vineet Khandpur UNIX System Administrator Information Technology Services University of Alberta Libraries +1-780-492-4718 On Tue, 4 Dec 2018 at 15:52, Andrei Verovski wrote: > Hi, > > Its not a single quirk with a Mac - spice console also don't work. > Terminal application is a trash. > > Install any Linux desktop under VirtualBox and forget that nightmare. > > > On 12/5/18 12:45 AM, Vineet Khandpur wrote: > > Hello. > > Apologies if this has been asked before, but Google came up empty for me. > > > > Recently converted to a Macbook, I've noticed an issue with the oVirt > > interface. [ovirt-users] Interface issue when using a macOS workstation
Hello. Apologies if this has been asked before, but Google came up empty for me. Recently converted to a Macbook, I've noticed an issue with the oVirt interface. When in the Compute > Virtual Machines screen, when I'm trying to select multiple VMs, CMD+click doesn't work. I cannot select multiple machines at the same time. CNTL+click in macOS sends a right click to the interface, and no combination of OPTION/CONTROL/CMD works. Tried on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. SHIFT+click works on selecting multiple hosts when they are all in a row, but random select via CMD+click doesn't. A nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. vk -------- Vineet Khandpur UNIX System Administrator Information Technology Services University of Alberta Libraries +1-780-492-4718 ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/DZUNBITT3GODDWYJ7VDWUP7APPBFGLJI/
[ovirt-users] Re: ovirt 4.2.4 installation failures
Morning. You're correct. Used an internal package repo mirror for host creation (with a kickstart) which then interfered with the install of the openjdk packages. Did a clean install based on CentOS ISO (pure/clean) and engine-setup worked without issue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, greatly appreciated. vk Vineet Khandpur UNIX System Administrator Information Technology Services University of Alberta Libraries +1-780-492-4718 On 15 July 2018 at 00:37, Yedidyah Bar David wrote: > Hi, > > On Fri, Jul 13, 2018 at 5:25 PM, Vineet Khandpur > wrote: > > bump? > > > > vk > > ---- > > Vineet Khandpur > > UNIX System Administrator > > Information Technology Services > > University of Alberta Libraries > > +1-780-492-4718 > > > > On 12 July 2018 at 09:24, Vineet Khandpur wrote: > >> > >> Sorry, more clarification: > >> > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,810-0600 DEBUG otopi.context > >> context._executeMethod:128 Stage misc METHOD > >> otopi.plugins.ovirt_engine_setup.ovirt_engine.network. > ovirtproviderovn.Plugin._misc_configure_pro > >> vider > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,810-0600 DEBUG otopi.transaction > >> transaction._prepare:61 preparing 'File transaction for > >> '/etc/ovirt-engine/ovirt-provider-ovn-conf.example'' > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,810-0600 DEBUG otopi.filetransaction > >> filetransaction.prepare:183 file > >> '/etc/ovirt-engine/ovirt-provider-ovn-conf.example' missing > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,823-0600 DEBUG otopi.transaction > >> transaction._prepare:61 preparing 'File transaction for > >> '/etc/ovirt-provider-ovn/conf.d/10-setup-ovirt-provider-ovn.conf'' > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,823-0600 DEBUG otopi.filetransaction > >> filetransaction.prepare:183 file > >> '/etc/ovirt-provider-ovn/conf.d/10-setup-ovirt-provider-ovn.conf' > missing > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,830-0600 DEBUG > >> otopi.plugins.ovirt_engine_setup.ovirt_engine.network.ovirtproviderovn > >> plugin.executeRaw:813 execute: ('keytool', '-import', '-alias', > >> 'ovirt-provider-ovn', > >> '-keystore', '/var/lib/ovirt-engine/external_truststore', '-file', > >> '/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem', '-noprompt', '-storepass:env', 'pass'), > >> executable='None', cwd='None', env={'pass': '**FILT > >> ERED**'} > >> 2018-07-12 08:45:24,842-0600 DEBUG > >> otopi.plugins.ovirt_engine_setup.ovirt_engine.network.ovirtproviderovn > >> plugin.executeRaw:869 execute-result: ('keytool', '-import', '-alias', > >> 'ovirt-provide > >> r-ovn', '-keystore', '/var/lib/ovirt-engine/external_truststore', > '-file', > >> '/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem', '-noprompt', '-storepass:env', 'pass'), > >> exception > >> Traceback (most recent call last): > >> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/otopi/plugin.py", line 856, in > >> executeRaw > >> preexec_fn=preexec_fn, > >> File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/subprocess.py", line 711, in __init__ > >> errread, errwrite) > >> File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/subprocess.py", line 1327, in > _execute_child > >> raise child_exception > >> OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory > > Seems somewhat similar to: > > https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1481583 > > Sorry for not attaching there at the time the actual logs :- > > Is it possible that you (tried to) something non-default? [ovirt-users] unable to upgrade Centos 7.5 due to ovirt package dependencies

Does the dependency for the various storaged packages need to be updated to instead require udisks2? Re: [ovirt-users] Console button greyed out (4.2)
Hello. Just had the same issue @ 4.1, upgraded to 4.2(.1) Updated cluster compatibility, then, data centre compatibility All VMs lost their hardware (NICs (showed attached but unplugged), disks (status changed to disabled) and console) Our solution was simply to connect the NICs, activate the disks, then edit the VM and set Console to headless. Shut down the VM Then before bringing it back up, unchecked headless in the VM We then had to do a Run-Once which failed Then did a normal Run. Console was available, and all hardware came back fine. Didn't have to delete and re-create anything (although had to perform the above on all 70+ production hosts including our main web servers and HA load balancers .. which wasn't fun) ... Hope this helps someone vk On 15 February 2018 at 12:28, John Taylor wrote: > On Thu, Feb 15, 2018 at 11:54 AM, Michal Skrivanek > wrote: > > > > > >> On 15 Feb 2018, at 15:58, John Taylor wrote: > >> > >> Hi Nicolas, > >> I had the same problem and it looked like it was because of some older > >> vms (I believe from 3.6) that were configured with console with video > >> type of CIRRUS and protocol VNC. > > > > 3.6 had cirrus indeed.
