Okay. Could you please comment on that bug and provide what ovirt-node
version and what vdsm version you use.

IMO it should be fixed with the vdsm version you've got.

I will also attach myself to that bug.

Thanks for the report!

Hey Jorick,

could you please verify that the vdsm version within your iso is:
vdsm-4.14.5-0.el6.x86_64

If it is this bug you are seeing:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1055153

Then we should probably re-open it. As it is not fixed on Node.

Douglas, do you maybe something about that bug and ovirt-node?

Thanks

Re: [Users] [ANN] oVirt 3.4.0 Second Release Candidate is now available

2014-03-17 Thread Jorick Astrego
Hi Fabian,

Thanks a lot!

But it's having the same issue:

ls -lart
total 24
drwxr-xr-x. 2 vdsm kvm 4096 2014-03-17 10:13 backup
drwxr-xr-x. 13 root root 4096 2014-03-17 10:28 ..
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 5464 2014-03-17 10:28 supervdsm.log
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root0 2014-03-17 10:28 vdsm.log
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root0 2014-03-17 10:28 metadata.log
drwxr-xr-x. 3 vdsm kvm 4096 2014-03-17 10:28 .
-rw-r--r--. 1 vdsm kvm 352 2014-03-17 10:28 upgrade.log

I removed the old files from my PXE boot and then extracted the boot
files from the newer image, so I'm pretty sure I used the update node
image. But it's a bit hard to verify though as all the release numbers
are the same...

cat /etc/redhat-release
oVirt Node Hypervisor release 3.0.4 (1.0.201401291204.el6) (Edited)

Kind regards,

Jorick Astrego

Hi,

Can we also have a new build of the node image? I spend a lot of time
debugging an issue that had already been fixed in beta3
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1064047

But the node image
(http://fedorapeople.org/~fabiand/node/3.0.4/ovirt-node-iso-3.0.4-1.0.201401291204.vdsm34.el6.iso)
is older than this bugfix. It would be not so efficient finding all the bugs
that have already been fixed...

It surely is iptables that got the two other rpm in.

I think it was requested in some way because during the
 # engine-setup
phase I answered Yes to the firewall question
Do you want Setup to configure the firewall? (Yes, No) [Yes]:

In the very same situation in the past I had no 32 bit packages installed.

I think there are no useful messages in the setup log (extract follows):

Sounds really weird. Anybody else hit this? Can you determine which package
pulled in that dep?

Hi,
just want to let you know that upgrading the engine from 3.4.0 RC ->
3.4.0 RC2 pulls in three i686 rpms:
 glibc-2.12-1.132.el6.i686.rpm
 iptables-1.4.7-11.el6.i686.rpm
 nss-softokn-freebl-3.14.3-9.el6.i686.rpm
( this is a fully patched CentOS 6.5 x86_64 install).

Then
 # yum remove iptables.i686 nss-softokn-freebl.i686 glibc.i686
to evict any 32 bit package from my engine and all is fine again.

Best regards,
Giorgio.

I noticed that not all vdsm fixes are listed in the release notes

74b4a27 xmlrpc: [Fix] Use correct base class for parsing request
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1074063

d456d75 xmlrpc: Support HTTP 1.1

[Users] [ANN] oVirt 3.4.0 Second Release Candidate is now available

2014-03-11 Thread Sandro Bonazzola
The oVirt team is pleased to announce that the 3.4.0 Second Release Candidate
is now available for testing.

Release notes and information on the changes for this update are still being
worked on and will be available soon on the wiki[1].
Please ensure to follow install instruction from release notes if you're going
to test it.
The existing repository ovirt-3.4.0-prerelease has been updated for delivering
this release candidate and future refreshes until final release.

An oVirt Node iso will also be available soon.

We decided to postpone Final Release by one week in order to properly test the
bugs fixed since last Release Candidate.
Help us make this the best release ever, testing it yourself!
