Did you doublecheck your imap settings. Do the users need to logon with their email addresses instead of user account. Do you use tls or ssl ?

I 'd like to add that I have this problem since last update of Sogo from
an ubuntu 10.04 LTS server ... a few weeks before
I have reinstalled all sogo several times from the beginning of the
documentation... And I 've got always the same issue for each
thunderbird client !

Maybe sogo make some type of cache? I find this problem opening Thunderbird,
