[SOGo] existing features

2013-07-31 Thread Johannes Mock
Hello all together

According inverse SOGo has the ability to send reminder e-mails, even
for events as well as for tasks. However, this feature seems to work
only for events.
If I'm wrong, I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me
how do I enable this function for tasks.

Best regards
Johannes Mock

No.
But there are new options in the SOGo config.
Just read the documentation or the changelogs.

No, you can not change any preferences via webdav.
Why don't you use the web interface?

Sure, sogo is a service user now.
So you can not login as that user, as he has no shell (see /etc/passwd).

If I remember correctly this has changed in 2.0.5b.

In order to get what you want, you have to use:
sudo -u sogo bash

 Also I want to integrate it with 389 directory .. and its installed in
 another server .

There is no problem with that, as long as you don't use Outlook with
OpenChange.

Just configure SOGo to use this server.
See hostname, bindDN, bindPassword, bindFields and bindAsCurrentUser in
SOGoUserSources.

Re: [SOGo] Update from 2.0.5 to 2.0.7

2013-07-31 Thread sr42...@gmail.com

Hello,

At the end of the SOGo Installation and configuration guide ( version
2.0.7 ), I can read this :

/Upgrading//
//
//This section describes what needs to be done when upgrading to the
current version of SOGo //

//from the previous release.//
//
//2.0.5//
//The confi guration is now stored in /etc/sogo/sogo.conf. Perform the
following commands as //

//root to migrate your previous user defaults://
//install -d -m 750 -o sogo -g sogo /etc/sogo//
//sudo -u sogo sogo-tool dump-defaults  /etc/sogo/sogo.conf//
//chown root:sogo /etc/sogo/sogo.conf//
//chmod 640 /etc/sogo/sogo.conf//
//sudo -u sogo mv ~/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults \//
//~/GNUstep/Defaults/GNUstepDefaults.old/

So I think this must be done...
( even if it seems to work without doing anything more )

Regards.

Samuel

[SOGo] SOGo with externally hosted mail

2013-07-31 Thread Matthew
I have a client whose requirements call for hosting their email accounts
externally. I have searched the docs but not found mention of the
following scenario - does SOGo support a scenario wherein users' email
is hosted externally, and connection to those external user accounts
made through IMAP? To be clear, this is distinctly different than
periodic collecting email from external accounts and transferring to
local SOGo mailbox. Mailbox would remain on external host, and simply
be accessed by SOGo via IMAP.

Thank you

SOGo has no local mailbox, it's just an email client and access your
mails through IMAP, so it should be fine with an externaly hosted mail
server, as long as you can access it with IMAP

[SOGo] Dropping support for ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric)

2013-07-31 Thread Jean Raby

Hi all,

I wanted to let you know that we're about to stop building packages for ubuntu
11.10 since it is not supported by canonical anymore.

Existing packages will still be available, but new releases won't support this
EOL distro. If some of you are still running this, I can only recommend to
upgrade ASAP ;-)
