Thank Alain

My SME 8.0 is 32 bit version. Your idea about 64 bit is a good idea but I will
have problem to move users data to the new installation.
Migrate users to a new server is not easy at all. I will consider this next
time.

My server is freezed for around 10-30 minutes and when it is light load it
comes back again.
I already change the processes to 32 in /etc/default/sogo. Do I need to
increase this number to 64?

Re: [SOGo] imap issue with Archiveopteryx backend

2014-07-03 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

On 2014-07-03, 1:43 PM, NSS Ltd wrote:

Any suggestions to overcome this problem ? Would proxying IMAP work ? (e.g.
Dovecot proxy)

Dovecot proxy would most likely work.

The documentation suggests support for ACL, UIDPLUS and QRESYNC which are
listed for Archiveopteryx OK. There is nothign about ANNOTATEMORE however.
We should add a note that we either require ANNOTATEMORE support, or
X-GUID (Dovecot only).

If Archiveopteryx has a way to uniquely identify a mailbox (which can
survive IMAP RENAME operations), we could use it too.

Thanks,

[SOGo] imap issue with Archiveopteryx backend

2014-07-03 Thread NSS Ltd
When using the ActiveSync mobile client connection, I see some strange
errors being logged by the IMAP server. :

Jul 3 16:17:18 messaging Archiveopteryx: 29924/2/13 Unknown command.
Line: "22 getannotation \"*\" \"/comment\" \"value.priv\""
Jul 3 16:17:18 messaging Archiveopteryx: 29924/2/13 Unknown command.
Line: "23 setannotation \"INBOX\" \"/comment\" (\"value.priv\"
\"messaging__net_75a3_1965aee5_58\")"
Jul 3 16:17:31 messaging Archiveopteryx: 29924/2/13 Unknown command.
Line: "25 setannotation \"Trash\" \"/comment\" (\"value.priv\"
\"messaging__net_75a3_1965aee5_59\")"
Jul 3 16:17:46 messaging Archiveopteryx: 29924/2/13 Unknown command.
Line: "27 setannotation \"Sent\" \"/comment\" (\"value.priv\"
\"messaging__net_75a3_1965aee5_5a\")"
Jul 3 16:18:02 messaging Archiveopteryx: 29924/2/13 Unknown command.
Line: "29 setannotation \"Drafts\" \"/comment\" (\"value.priv\"
\"messaging__net_75a3_1965aee5_5b\")"

Checking with the Archiveopteryx developers, they suggest this is use of
ANNOTATEMORE extension even through this is not advertised or supported.

These errors are stopping mobile devices configuring and reading mail -
ironically, calendars are fine and even sending mail works provided the inbox
is empty when the account is configured initially.

I see the relevant code seems to be in :

~/SOGo-2.2.6# grep -ri annota *
SoObjects/Mailer/SOGoMailAccount.m: result = [client annotation: @"*"
entryName: @"/comment" attributeName: @"value.priv"];
SoObjects/Mailer/SOGoMailAccount.m: nresult = [client
annotation: [object substringFromIndex: 1] entryName: @"/comment"
attributeName: @"value.priv" attributeValue: guid];

Any suggestions to overcome this problem ? Would proxying IMAP work ? (e.g.
Dovecot proxy)

The documentation suggests support for ACL, UIDPLUS and QRESYNC which are
listed for Archiveopteryx OK. There is nothign about ANNOTATEMORE however.

Suggestions an/or advice welcomed...

Jim

Re: [SOGo] sogo-tool 'lost connection' errors after update to SOGo 2.2.5

Question: for setups where the mysql server is on a different system

mysqld for 'skip-name-resolve'?

I'm thinking that, if 2.2.5 does use more connections as someone else
said, maybe this problem is being caused by lots of client connections
from outside from clients with poor reverse DNS resolution, because I do
(and always have) seen lots of these kinds of warnings from phone based
clients:

Never mind... forgot that the only client connecting to the mysql server
is the sogo server, other clients connect to the sogo server...

I'd still like to know why this only started after the update to 2.2.5.

I guess its time to get help from someone who actually knows what they
are doing to help troubleshoot this, since no one here has any ideas...

Re: [SOGo] Strange problem on installing Openchange server

2014-07-03 Thread Rob Kemp
I had installed and configured Samba 4, yes, and it was working (I
think). But the trouble started only when I installed Openchange.

It now seems that Postfix developed an issue more or less at the same
time as I installed Openchange. From that point on, incoming emails
were regularly being turned away with a message saying "Service

I reversed all the configuration I'd done, but it was only after
uninstalling the Openchange packages that the problem seemed to go away.

Has anyone seen this issue, or does anyone have a theory about how it
might arise? And how to avoid it??

I do realise that the connection I've made between installing those
packages and having Postfix problems could be spurious.

Thanks in advance

Rob

@Somsak
You should do extensive monitoring of your server to find the
bottleneck. Besides memory and CPU limitations the problem might also
be IO related. You should check if a high IO wait time causes freezes
of your Sogo, IMAP Backend or your Database.

Janis

mm I wasn't aware of this, sorry. good to know.

btw I read that it depends also on cpu & kernel used/configuration, and
anyway

Any hints or tips on this? It seems a bit like re-inventing the wheel
to have to download all the vCard entries from the SOGo address book,
parse them and then do the matching to find a name from a telephone number.

[SOGo] Migrating user data between servers and versions

2014-07-03 Thread Sven Schwedas
Hi,

We're migrating from a server running SOGo 1.3.17 to a new one running
2.2.6, with a fresh database. Authentication is via LDAP in both cases –
different domains, but identical uids.

What's the best way to migrate calendars/contacts between those?
sogo-tool backup/restore? Database move?
