I think it's a systemd problem. This just repeats over and over before the
startup fails:

recvmsg(3, {msg_name(0)=NULL,

No more context-menu on right click. These are not mobile friendly and

The new v3 is responsive, optimized for both mobiles and desktops.

SOGo's Web interface remains, well, a Web interface. We didn't want to bypass
the contextual menus of the user's browser as we do in v2 for multiple reasons:

- Users do require access to the options offered in the browser's contextual
menu (Copy, Paste, etc);
- It's not possible to trigger those contextual menus on touch screens (phones,
tablets);
- Our experience is that most Web applications don't create JavaScript-driven
contextual menus. Most users won't even think looking for additional options by
firing a contextual menu. In a Web browser, we expect to click on links and
buttons. The contextual menu is meant for native functions.

I hope it clarifies our decision.

Thanks,

Francis--

I did have several package installation problems (I'm guessing switching
from b5 to 1.0 confused yum) so I had to install several packages manually.
Also, the sogo post script failed:

Created symlink from
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/sogod.service to
/usr/lib/systemd/system/sogod.service.
warning: %post(sogo-3.0.0-1.el7.centos.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit
status 1

so I had to go check that everything was correct. I listed out the rpm
scripts and it looks like everything shown was completed. strace shows the
program in a perpetual break.

Hello,
After about 1.5 year of development, Inverse is extremely happy to announce the
immediate availability of SOGo v3.0! This release is considered ready for

SOGo v3.0 brings an unified device-agnostic Web interface aligned with Google
Material Design guidelines. SOGo v3 shares virtually the same backend code as
v2 so all the Enterprise ActiveSync features, DAV capabilities and native
Outlook compatibility are present in v3 and they share the same maturity as v2.
However, the new Web interface reaches new horizons:
 *
complete rewrite of the JavaScript frontend using Angular and AngularMaterial;
* responsive design and accessible options focused on mobile devices; *
horizontal 3-pane view for a better experience on large desktop screens; * new
color palette and better contrast ratio as recommended by the W3C; * improved
accessibility to persons with disabilities by enabling common ARIA attributes;
* use of Mozilla's Fira Sans typeface.

you can - as stated in this thread - offer both V2 GUI and V3 GUI and

Yes, and that at least makes sense... much more so than Ludovic's
'Right-click context menus have no value on Desktops any more' response.

That said, maybe a better solution would be a configuration option that
allowed the user to get the browser context menus by
[CTRL][ALT]+Right-clicking?

Also, since the original goal of the v2 UI was to mimic closely the
Thunderbird UI, and since you were providing right-click contextual
menus for a long time, I would have to ask: did Inverse get a lot of
Support issues or complaints about the fact that the v2 UI 'bypassed the
browser context menu's'?

If not, then maybe you are trying to 'fix something that isn't broken'?
Or, like I said, just provide a way to the user to get the browser
context menus - maybe even making it configurable as to which were
dominant - ie, allow the user to make [CTRL][ALT]+right-click either
activate the browser context menu's *or* the SOGo UI context menus?

Anyway, thanks for the explanation, like I said at least it makes a
little more sense now...

[SOGo] SOGo V2 and SOGo V3 in parallel

2016-01-28 Thread J. Echter
Hi,

as it was mentioned i could run sogo in v2.x and v3.x in parallel on the
same set of data, i ask myself how to do this on an centos system.

If i have a look at the downloads (repos) it seems that sogo v3 will
just get pulled as an update for sogo v2.

Do i have to compile from source or do i look at the very wrong files?

Or do i have another machine accessing the same databases?

Thanks for enlightenment :D

Hello,

On my email server i have both roundcube webmail and sogo running. I
noticed that sogo doesn't show the unread email count on subfolders as
RC does.

These folders and the automatic filtering of mail to them were made in
RC with filtering by dovecot sieve by way of the RC managesieve
plugin.

anything i can do to have sogo recognize the unread count? once i
click on any folder it's count label updates immediately but doesn't
display when i first login and am sitting at the inbox. Thanks.

No, it is a pure Apache configuration.
I can see the entries in Thunderbird, when I open and save them

Looks like the only thing the post-install script does is to touch the Web
server files such that the browser will pick up the changes. Beyond that,
it just starts the sogod daemon. So that failing shouldn't have caused any
real issue with starting sogo.

Are there any special selinux labels you've created to work within that
system? It looks like that maybe what's stopping SOGo in its tracks.

See above.

That feature landed last week in v3. It'll be part of the next small

Event reloading the page does not work, as I said previously, that

Could this be some caching issue with nginx? I am using

Hello,

After about 1.5 year of development, Inverse is extremely happy to
announce the immediate availability of SOGo v3.0! This release is
considered ready for production use.

SOGo v3.0 brings an unified device-agnostic Web interface aligned
with Google Material Design guidelines. SOGo v3 shares virtually the
same backend code as v2 so all the Enterprise ActiveSync features,
DAV capabilities and native Outlook compatibility are present in v3
and they share the same maturity as v2. However, the new Web
interface reaches new horizons:

 *

complete rewrite of the JavaScript frontend using Angular and
AngularMaterial;

  * responsive design and accessible options focused on mobile devices;
  * horizontal 3-pane view for a better experience on large desktop
screens;
  * new color palette and better contrast ratio as recommended by the
W3C;
  * improved accessibility to persons with disabilities by enabling
common ARIA attributes;
  * use of Mozilla's Fira Sans typeface.

Version 2 will continue to be maintained and it is possible to run
both versions 2 and 3 concurrently on the same data set to ease the

that is awesome news. Congratulations to the release.

Is there any schedule on when or if, there will be official Ubuntu

Thanks a lot,

Congratulations.

Can this be concurrently installed on the same server? if so is there
some howto?
I suppose it's possible as SOGo service listens on a specific port,
though I'm not sure the prebuilt packages are usable and also if the
/SOGo is easy to be changed.

Thanks.

Is there an upgrade path from v.2.x.x to v.3..0? And, are there

Hi,

that is awesome news. Congratulations to the release.

Is there any schedule on when or if, there will be official Ubuntu
releases for newer versions like 15.04 or 15.10?

Thanks a lot,

 *

complete rewrite of the JavaScript frontend using Angular and
AngularMaterial;

  * responsive design and accessible options focused on mobile devices;
  * horizontal 3-pane view for a better experience on large desktop
screens;
  * new color palette and better contrast ratio as recommended by
the W3C;
  * improved accessibility to persons with disabilities by enabling
common ARIA attributes;
  * use of Mozilla's Fira Sans typeface.

Version 2 will continue to be maintained and it is possible to run
both versions 2 and 3 concurrently on the same data set to ease the
transition.

There will be a FAQ entry about this. We just need to bring up the FAQ
on the new website which should happen shortly.

Basically, you have two choices.

1. use a chroot or a VM and point SOGo v3 to the same subservices v2
   uses (database, IMAP server, SMTP server, etc.)
2. uses the packages from v2, but the install SOGo v3 from sources on
   the same server

You can swap v2/v3 in the two choices above.

So the new 3+ UI is only meant for mobile? Maybe you should make this
clear in the release notes?

If I'm misunderstanding, then building something limiting yourself to
the least common denominator is a really bad decision.

Right-click context menus are invaluable on desktops.

When will the classic theme, that many users have requested in the last

The new "mobile first"-design may be nice to look at but it is painful

Thank you!

Had the same problem when trying to update from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 recently and
rolled back to 2.3.4.
Thought it was some local issue but when you have the same problems with saving
calendar events and mails, it seems to be a general issue.
We had a lot of proxy errors in the apache logs, like
Internal error: proxy: error reading status line from remote server
127.0.0.1:2
No errors in the sogo log.

Hope this can be solved.

br,
Alex

Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo v3.0 released!

2016-01-28 Thread Johannes Zellner

Hi,

I have tried now both chromium Version 48.0.2564.82 (64-bit) and Firefox
Nightly, same behavior.
Have spend some more time on it. So looking at the REST calls, after the
POST for a new event, which is fine, all further GET requests to
eventblocks would not contain the new event.
But once I simply open it and save it without further editing in
Thunderbird (as said, sync works fine) then it appears in the events
array of the GET eventblock in the browser.
Event reloading the page does not work, as I said previously, that might
have just overlapped with me doing things on Thunderbird.

Could this be some caching issue with nginx? I am using
http://wiki.sogo.nu/nginxSettings (with adjustments to SSL)

Thanks,
Johannes

The issue is, they are not appearing in the webui calendar without

Works for me - what browser/version are you using?

Does your IMAP server support IMAP SORT?

yes it does. i'm running a dovecot server. I just tried it on my
smartphone and was able to change the sort order with the android chrome
browser.

So it might be a strange ubuntu-any-browser issue.
