[SOGo] Auto update status of Invitees when an invitation is accepted?
When an invitee accepts an invitation to an event created in Thunderbird + Lightning + SOGo, or through the SOGo web interface, I believe the calendar owner gets an email like : Accepted: Test Event 8 @ Wed Feb 17, 2016 3pm - 4pm When viewing that email with Thunderbird + Lightning or through the SOGo web interface, I get an Update or Update Status button. It looks as though, only after clicking that button, does the attendee show up with the Green circle next to their name when viewing the event's invitees, to indicate they have accepted the invitation. Is there some configuration option to make the status of the invitee update automatically when they accept an invitation to an event, without the need to click the Update button in the Accepted notification email? Or, is it possible to have the Accepted notification email go to the event creator instead of the calendar owner? Thanks, John -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
[SOGo] OpenPGP support, unexpected nice surprise, but a little buggy
Hi all, We're in the process of replacing our flakey and aging Zarafa mail server with Postfix+Dovecot+SOGo, and so far in the tests, SOGo3 is looking good. We've got SOGO 3.0.0-1 installed from the http://inverse.ca/ubuntu-v3 repository on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit. I've been doing some test emails from my home account, where I enable OpenPGP by default. Unexpectedly, I noticed SOGo had tried to verify the digital signature (PGP/MIME), but it then declared the "Digital Signature is not Valid". I tried with an inline PGP email, and it didn't recognise that one at all. Both emails were generated in Thunderbird+Enigmail, and both validate successfully there. http://www.longlandclan.id.au/~stuartl/sogo/2016/02/03-openpgp/ I suspect, it's because it doesn't have the public key, and seems to lack a key management interface (I suspect OpenPGP support is very much in its infancy in SOGo). Where abouts does SOGo execute gpg? Maybe I can set up a suitable .gnupg directory to with a configuration to automatically fetch keys. To be honest, I expected it to completely ignore OpenPGP in much the way that many email clients do, so to have it attempt to even attempt, to me was an unexpected surprise (a pleasant one). What are the plans for this feature long-term? Pull Request done. Over to you now to take or leave as you wish. My server is now working fine so I'm happy either way. If anyone's interested in giving the change a try in the meantime then here's the patch (for v 2.3.6 but should work just the same for 2.3.5 and 2.3.7a). Only the pool bit is necessary. Re: [SOGo] ActiveSync Excessive Memory Consumption - Cured
I did try reducing the values of those two parameters but it still chomped all of the memory on the server. The problem I had was with a calender of about 4000 events synchronizing to Outlook 2013 which I doubt is particularly a corner case. On another server with more memory the same sync did complete OK but it seems strange to need to much memory for this operation. The minor pool management change made such a dramatic difference to the memory useage that I think it well worth considering the change but do please review it carefuly - I've now got a grand total of less than a day's experience of objective C. I'll get the push request in later when I've worked out how to do it. Thanks Raph In this corner case a three line change made a On 02/02/2016 13:59, Ludovic Marcotte wrote: On 2016-02-02 05:34, Raph Weyman wrote: By adding a locally controlled auto-release pool to the inner 'for' loop in this function, the memory consumption of the daemon during the same ActiveSync calendar synchronisation stays within 50K or so. A local pool might help a bit, but the root of the issue is a misconfiguration of the SOGoMaximumSyncResponseSize and SOGoMaximumSyncWindowSize. For example, if you have 1000 email folders (like I do) and you launch Outlook 2013, it'll ask for 512 messages for each folder. You can end up initially sending back 512 000 mails. Anyway, create the PR and we'll look at it. As I said, a local pool might help in some corner-cases. Thanks, -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] ActiveSync Excessive Memory Consumption - Cured
Hi all, Having watched the SOGo daemon repeatedly chomp through all of the RAM and swap on my server while syncing a large calendar over ActiveSync, I believe I have discovered the cause. It's an unconstrained use of the auto-release pool in the method 'processSyncCommands' (file SOGoActiveSyncDispatcher+Sync.m).
