I publish my small script to import from vCard files (extracted from
Microsoft Exchange PST by libpst) directly to SOGo database:

we use ejabberd based on the same Ldap with jitsi client
Jisti can even handle video and is compatible with all platforms

I don't understand your question.
The SOGo just a frontend service, the Openfire Jabber is an other one
above the Samba4 AD.
They are managed with their configurations

As far as external (smartphone) access is concerned: JSXC requires an XMPP
servers (formerly known as Jabber) as a backend, so chances are that your
mobile clients could be able to connect
