Mozilla already stopped supporting Lightning for Thunderbird ESR, and I
assume other addons will have similar problems long before the scheduled
end of life. How well does the Integrator/Connector run with non-ESR
Thunderbird?

Where did
well, after a fresh install of TB 10 (which I did today) and searching
for add-ons, you won't find lightning.
If you do a manual search, you'll find a disabled 1.3. Your only chance
is to go to lightning's project page and install a previous version
(which is not encouraged by the project).

There is a similar dicussion on tb-enterprise ML
For this reason I pushed lightning 1.2.3 by sogo-integrator.
It's the only way by now
