Re: [xwiki-users] Failed to Save Error

2017-01-31 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea
How do you save the class? "Save and Continue" or "Save and View"? You can
check using the browser's dev tools to see if there are any JavaScript
exceptions (in the JavaScript Console) or if there is any failed (XHR) HTTP
request in the Network tab.

[xwiki-users] Failed to Save Error

2017-01-31 Thread Jesse Bright
Whenever I save a new class (app?) based wiki page (blog, FAQ or custom app) I
get a red error at the bottom of the page that reads: "Failed to save the page.
Reason: Server not responding" The strange thing is the page did save. Other
than the error message nothing appears to be wrong.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this or where I should begin
troubleshooting?

Regards,

Jesse

[xwiki-users] Potential bug in Ubuntu dist of 9.0

2017-01-31 Thread Craig Wright
Noticed this in xwiki.cfg, diff between 8.4.4 and 9.0:

102c105
< # xwiki.store.migration.manager.hint=hibernate
---
> # xwiki.store.migration.manager.hint=hibernatehibernate

I am going to assume hibertnatehibernate is not the correct value there. :)

Let me know if you want a bug filed.

Thanks,
Craig

You need to read this:

Re: [xwiki-users] Use xwiki for local server

2017-01-31 Thread hamiazuhk26
Thanks vmassol,

I know this is a web application where we only need the browser for client
side. My question is for server side. Do we need to install JRE, Servlet
Container, JDBC Driver to make the xwiki run and be able to access in
client?

Re: [xwiki-users] Xwiki in FreeBSD jail?

2017-01-31 Thread Oliver Angélil
Thanks Vincent and Patrick,

Maybe I'll try this docker thing that Vincent provided. Installing all the
components separately before installing the Xwiki .war seems laborious.

Now I wish I had Ubuntu so I could use app-get to install Xwiki ;)

No, XWiki is a web application so you just need a browser on the client side.

If you’re not that technical and don’t want to be bothered, note that you coud
also use a cloud service such as
http://www.xwiki.com/en/products/try-xwiki-cloud which is great for testing
since it’s not expensive at all for < 10 users (see
http://www.xwiki.com/en/products/pricing).

Thanks

Are you sure about that ?

On https://www.java.com/en/download/help/windows_offline_download.xml
I see Window XP listed.

Yes apt is most likely the simplest solution, even though installing XWiki is
also quite easy if you know how to install a servlet container (such as Tomcat)
+ a database (such as MySQL).

FTR I’ve also published recently a docker container that contains everything
setup, including a libreoffice server for office imports/view. See
https://hub.docker.com/r/xwiki/xwiki-mysql-tomcat/

I’ll soon document that on xwiki.org.

[xwiki-users] Use xwiki for local server

2017-01-31 Thread hamiazuhk26
HI, I want to use xwiki for client-server access.
The thing is when I install the xwiki in server, and try to access/open in
client(my laptop) it can't be open. Does it require me to install the java?
Before forgot, my server is using windows xp.

Somebody help
