You will need to select one or more paragraph styles to suit your work
and then modify

When I double-click on a different page style, the existing page style
remains unchanged although the icons on the menu bar and in the status
bar immediately indicate that the document has an unsaved change.

I found that by using DropBox or Google's Drive I could swap
files but if I wanted to access something saved on an external HD, then

Suggestions:
(1) If you go to the Apple 'store', you should find that Pages is
one of the free programs you can download.
(2) LO has a Mac version which I would think would open any Mac
document,

Please could somebody tell me where to change the default page size. I
am in UK and want A4 as the default but I keep getting "letter".
I do not wish to create a new template and put it in "My Templates" and
make that the default. I want to change the default setting at the
lowest level possib

All fixed thank you. It was the manual formatting causing
the problem. Had been
experimenting on a couple of paragraphs to find a suitable style.

every version of libreoffice which i tested, use a4 by default.
you can use format, page, and in the second tab, make your own choice.
as i mentioned, for me is a4 by default and i did not change anything.
