I think it's unable to connect to its server. It cannot function offline, unless you download and run the server. Anyway, LanguageTool (www.languagetool.org) is better. It works offline too. -- View this message in context:

That's what I noticed too. We have to make sure that 1. Grammar check is enabled Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - Writing Aids * TICK Check grammar as you type 2. Enable rules Choose *Tools - Extension Manager* Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - English sentence checking*
