Actually, Display Link did release a driver

I tested in on ubuntu 16.04 i386 and it works.

...OK, but I wouldn't even consider a binary-only driver.

I'd also note that there are a *lot* of these docks in use with MacBooks
where I work, and driver compatibility is holding up security updates.
They don't work in the current release of OS X. It isn't clear when or
if that'll be resolved, or if we'll have to replace them all.

Generally, my advice remains: Avoid anything with DisplayLink.  It's not
worth the hassle.

XPS.  :)

I highly appreciate if you can recommend suitable dock which perfectly working
with fedora on 9360.  I need to plug dual monitors using HDMI and ethernet is a
must.

Dell Business Dock - WD15 with 130W adapter

Works 100%.  One DisplayPort and one HDMI output.  I use this one daily.

TB16

I tested this one before F28.  At the time, I had to adjust the BIOS settings
to allow Thunderbolt devices without authentication.  F28 *should* support
this, since it worked in F27 without authentication. And it should support
higher resolution multi-monitor setups, but it's been a while since I tested it.

They suggest it should be possible to install on other distros
https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/679060
but it will require some fiddling, which I did not try. However, others did.
e.g.

Or search for more...

I use a TB16 with my Precision 5520, and it's almost perfect. ;-)

There was an issue when I first got it with the Ethernet adapter in the
dock, and more recently there were problems with displays connected to
the dock.

That said, all of them have had workarounds, and the kernel community
has ultimately been able to fix them.

(I do have Thunderbolt security turned off in the BIOS, so that I can
enter my LUKS password with the dock-attached keyboard.)

I've never had a problem with a dock, they're usually pretty simple.
The one thing you need to watch out for is if there is a separate video
card in the dock, but that is quite rare.
