With oVirt 4.4.7 the machine-id should be reset properly for each VM as we run virt-sysprep also when creating the VM from template (unless it is in pool I think). Good morning, I think the location of the client lease file has changed from 16.04 to 18.04 when moving to netplan. I have seen the same problem. Even confirmed that MAC address are different on VM's. I am using a DSHP server. How do you use the virt-sysprep command? is executed from ovirt-master / vm? how do you select the template though? If yes, thrn - this should not happen. When you create a new VM , please check the MAC address of the VM ? Also you can try to run 'virt-sysprep' on the Template's disk and check the output for errors.
