Not for 3.6 vs 4.0, but it actually is, here:

http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/engine/separate-reports-host/

See also:

http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/engine/separate-dwh-host/

In above, each of engine, dwh, reports is in its own machine.
You can do a similar thing with engine+dwh on one and reports on another.

Do not hesitate ping back if you are stuck!

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt Reports

2016-08-14 Thread Fernando Fuentes
David,

Thats exactly what I am trying to accomplish.
When I re-run the ovirt setup on my 3.6 system, I give it the IP of my
ovirt 4.0 machine, Do I leave the DB to the default name? Is there a db
user and password on the 4.0 machine?

Sorry for so many questions... This is not documented...

Thank you for all the help!

I didn't try this myself, but pointing your reports setup to the 4.0 dwh
database should work. If you have problems, please give more details -
it's not clear what exactly you have on each machine.

Generally speaking, oVirt does not currently provide tools to make
the engine or dwh "send data" elsewhere (a 3.6 reports or whatever).
You can try doing this yourself using generic postgresql means/tools.

Hi,

Please check now again if you see data from recent days in table
"host_hourly_history".
What reports are you running and for which period?
Are all reports related to host empty? Can you please attach screenshots?

Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt reports

2016-04-06 Thread Shirly Radco
I believe that dwh was killed and not stopped correctly by service stop,
and therefore did not exit cleanly.
This is why it did not send an exit message to the log and did not update
the engine that dwh is not running.

Shirly

2016-04-05 Thread Shirly Radco
Hi,

No. You don't need to reinstall.

There should be a cron job that restarts the dwh service after it is down
for an hour.
Didi, In what cases it will not start?

It isn't compatible with Java 8, but you can have both Java 8 and Java 7
installed and just set Java 7 as the default. The workaround is
explained here:

"page not found" with what URL in the browser address bar?

Do you have the correct address in
/etc/ovirt-engine/engine.conf.d/10-setup-reports-access.conf?

Is it resolvable both from your client and inside the engine server?

I seem to have exactly the same issue.

HostedEngine 3.4.1; with engine-dwh and engine-reports installed.
I only ever managed to view reports from the same day.

Both and any other input parameter have the same behavior
* values can not be changed. instead in the most lef of the screen [the blue
little bar, part of the values appear there]
the first character of every value [like, D for Daily, M for Monthly, and
Y for yearly].

The same thing for all other input parameter.

Thanks again

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt Reports Input Parameters

2014-05-20 Thread Mohyedeen Nazzal
Thanks Yaniv,

In the following Ovirt-Reports-Log and
Screenshots
I
have added the log file and two screen shoots,
1- when trying to change the period range.
2- when trying to change the date.

Both and any other input parameter have the same behavior
* values can not be changed. instead in the most lef of the screen [the
blue little bar, part of the values appear there]
the first character of every value [like, D for Daily, M for Monthly, and
Y for yearly].

The same thing for all other input parameter.

Thanks again.

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt Reports

2014-05-19 Thread Mohyedeen Nazzal
Thanks,
I'm having an issue with ovirt reports, i can't change any of the input
control, like the data center, vm, ...etc.
each time i type anything in the specific text box the message is cleared
immediately.

i have added a description here
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.ovirt.user/18424

Is this a known issue or just me cause no one is talking about it??

Thanks again.
