Re: Wicket merchandise

This time there was enough money to AWARD no less than three hardworking
Wicketeers (in fact all of the nominees). Merchandise are on it's way to

Andrea Del Bene
Martin Grigorov
Sven Meier

Continue your good work. And for the rest of us the more we use Wicket the
better it becomes.

Best regards to you all and I hope to do this again :)

You can support this thing by buying from :

 Hi Guys

long time no see.. Apparently there are some money left on the wicket
merchandise shop (http://www.cafepress.com/apachewicket).. So I suggest
that it's time for the community to nominee and vote on who should have a
cap, tshirt or coffee mug for their effort..

So if someone would gather nominees and handle the vote.. I'll send the
merchandise to the lucky (or hard working) winner :)

I'll follow on the side line..

 1. Provide the core team with merchandise (might be the ordinary

Nope, I guess it's about donations back to ASF (I guess I might have
been unclear about it). In my reply I've sumarized what we agreed on
here. Non profit, exeding money goes to supply comitters / patchers with
merchandise and if none of the previous then ASF.. Although I think they
might want a percentage instead.. I look forward on hearing their reply,
it seems they have a 5 day window on response times..:( So it could take
a while.

I would recommend just putting down that the money goes straight to

buy it for them.

Well true, but it incurs more administration.. I also really liked the
idea that we could give t-shirts to patchers or wicketstuff projects
etc.. People feel much more appreciated and it would make good
conversation at work.. But I guess it could remain the same with the
paypal solution..

Just having the logo would look even more magical *g*

Less is more

Loads of people would ask what this 'wicked' logo means and you have
all the attraction you possibly want :-)

This would make it easier to proselytize alien web developers because
you don't have to hunt them down

first but they come to you voluntarily

+1 for just the logo

+1 for having some well-contrasting shirt color besides white (maybe
dark blue which is on the opposite side of the color circle)

Keep on rocking

I really don't want to get into a 'design by committee' thing.
BTW: I've no idea about trademark or copyright issues.

I like to see a simple way for people to support Wicket or Apache,
financially or by promoting it.
Some merchandize may help with both, at least a bit with the marketing
(and sell the merchandize with no profit).

Yup I totally agree..:)

If you can use my designs with that, go ahead. If you want them
modified or have better design idea's: go ahead.

you don't want all one color for the name, why not try using a border
of some sort (perhaps wicket orange)?

And another advantage of taking a paper edition to the toilet is that

Re: Wicket merchandise? - T-Shirt problem

2008-08-21 Thread hillj2

I have a short sleeve Wicket T-Shirt, but as the weather is about to get
colder, I would like a long-sleeve version. What would be the best way of
accomplishing this? Should I add the sleeves to a panel and add them to the
shirt container? Or should I extend the base shirt component and include
the sleeves in the child markup?

Re: Wicket merchandise?

2008-08-21 Thread James Carman
I don't know about de-emphasizing Apache in the name. Apache Wicket
is the name of the framework. It's Apache's brand and trademark. I
would run these designs by the powers that be (whoever that is). If
you don't want all one color for the name, why not try using a border
of some sort (perhaps wicket orange)?

+1 on the t-shirt and the general design as it is now.

But agree with James, I prefer Apache and Wicket to be both the same
color.

Extend it with the new ZIPPABLE sleeve architecture, much like AJAX but
with a very clean common interface. :)

I have a short sleeve Wicket T-Shirt, but as the weather is about to get

shirt container? Or should I extend the base shirt component and include
the sleeves in the child markup?

Re: Wicket merchandise?

2008-08-21 Thread Daan van Etten

I really don't want to get into a 'design by committee' thing.
BTW: I've no idea about trademark or copyright issues.

I like to see a simple way for people to support Wicket or Apache,
financially or by promoting it.
Some merchandize may help with both, at least a bit with the marketing
(and sell the merchandize with no profit).

If you can use my designs with that, go ahead. If you want them
modified or have better design idea's: go ahead.

Daan
