Copying database/ works fine. I've done it countless times. Of course if you tampered with the files inside database/ then you're on your own. Database data should never be modified directly. $XWIKINSTALLDIR is where you installed XE (that's if you've used the standalone installation). Anyway if you found the database/ directory then you know where the HSQLDB files are stored. Thanks -Vincent ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

I had installed using this - xwiki-enterprise-installer-windows-1.2-milestone-1.exe Thank you anyway, Vincent, I've found the culprit. The files were indeed tampered with inadvertently. :) vmassol wrote: On Oct 25, 2007, at 11:41 AM, V. I haven't found so. I think this person meant that it's not working only when trying to import an old XWiki 0.9 version in a new 1.1 version. AFAIK it's not broken in 1.1. I'll double check when I'm at my desk again (offline now) I mentioned it :-) and just to make it clear : - the broken one is the import functionality (IMHO). Just take a look at http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-1809 (I think that at least someone else couldn't make it work). It didn't work for me in 1.1.4918 but it throws a NullPointerException Could you please explain a bit more your case? In the case of Marc Lijour it didn't work because he was importing from a 0.9 version. AFAIK it's working fine if you import from a 1.0 or later version. That's exactly my case, importing from 0.9 Sorry, I wasn't paying attention that the problem was importing from 1.0 The problem seems to be importing from a 0.9 version (importing from 1.0 should work fine I think). -Vincent ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users
Re: [xwiki-users] Shifting to a new computer
But there should be a place visible to the human eye where all the data is stored :) ! I had a problem with the script which I replaced but the data is missing... I want to try to copy-paste the default HSQL database (wherever it is). If this works, then I can say that XWiki is the most friendly wiki I have ever come across ! I could even create a document 'In case of errors' or 'shifting your wiki' or 'creating an easy backup' !!! :) Vitantonio Messa wrote: Sorry but I cannot really help on this. Export the contents of your XWiki in a XAR, import the XAR back in your new XWiki :-) You can search for Import on XWiki.org to find out more about this topic. Guillaume On 23/10/2007, V. Re: [xwiki-users] Shifting to a new computer
I usally do it the long way round: 1) Disable tomcat/other-java-container 2) Full backup of database. MySQL has this feature as part of it's admin gui. 3) Move xwiki folder from the old tomcat server to the new one. Make sure tomcat is disabled on new server. 4) Restore database to the new server. Create username and assign permissions. You may need to do some configuration updates to allow the import of large data. 5) Start tomcat on new server, and login. I have a document for each of my main wiki classes so that each can be qualified - I do this for each new release that we use in the plant as well. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Víctor A. I've got a small doubt.
