Hello list,
I'm trying to use vconvert 4.9.10 stable. It does about a dozen of my
domains, then seg faults.
./vconvert -c -s
The dozen seem to look fine inside mysql. IE. looks like it was successful
at converting.
When I manually vconvert the next domain (IE, the one it WOULD have done
hi everyone and ken,
vpopmail-4.10.29 could not be compiled in redhat 7.1 with

Hi,
What configure options did you use.
I have just finished compiling vpopmail-4.10.29 successfully in RedHat
7.1 with mysql support and hardquota.
./configure --enable-mysql=y --enable-hardquota=500
One thing I have done previously to get Sun's JDK1.3.1 to run was to
install the
Hi, it's my configure options, where
$_qdir=/var/qmail,
$_odir=/opt
$_vdir=/home/vpopmail
/configure \
--prefix=$_vdir \
--enable-qmaildir=$_qdir \
--enable-tcprules-prog=$_odir/bin/tcprules \
--enable-relay-clear-minutes=30 \
--enable-sqwebmail-pass=y \
--enable-vpopuser=vpopmail \
Ok, as far as I can tell, in order to the qmailadmin to function properly
with vpopmail, the apache server has to be running under the same
username/group as vpopmail. That is vpopmail.vchkpw
So, having figure this out, I switched my apache server over to run under
the same username.group.
LOL, alright then. =) I was just wondering for some new mail servers I
was building. *shrug* I'll upgrade when they're ready. Though I do
appreciate the rough guestimate. =)
Regards,
Tren.

Hi,
How do I set a maximum mail message size, per domain and on a per user
basis?
I know about the quota on the maximum size of a mail box but I need to stop
users from sending mail bigger than a specified size.
I'm running vpopmail and qmail on redhat linux 6.2.
Thank you

Hi,
if you do a ./configure --help
..
--enable-hardquota=#|n n disables quotas, or # where # is a number in bytes NOT y,
do not use Y, y is BAD
...
so you need --enable-hardquota=500
Hope this helps

I did it but I've seen the same error.

An overview of my small but annoying problem.
The machine vpopmail (4.9.10) and qmail (1.03) are installed on is
www.mydomain.com. (not really mydomain.com, but you get the picture).
Using vadddomain and vadduser and whatnot, I am able to get vpopmail to work
for anyotherdomain.com. on the box.
Remove www.mydomain.com from the /var/qmail/control/locals file. It will then deliver
it as a virtualized domain instead of local delivery.

What are you using for the ./configure options? I'm going to take a guess and say
that it has to do with --enable-hardquota. You must use bytes for the hardquota
option. ie. for 5MB limit use --enable-hardquota=5242880 (not 5M - the docs say that
you can but it doesn't work).
Ahh.. I had no locals file in /var/qmail/control/ So I touched
/var/qmail/control/locals and restarted my qmail services. Then sent a mail
and everything works now.
Thanks Ed!

Hi list,
We are migranting from sendmail to qmail, and we have installed qmail,
vpopmail 4.10.9 with Mysql.
The proble that we face is that when you try to log in, and you have a wrong
user/password, vpopmail close the connection, isntead of giving any kind of
--ERR message.
We have a web mail

Bill and Richard,
Try putting system quotas on the /home directories per user -- do a web search on
quota howto. This is always worked for me. You should be able to find it easily.

David,
It sounds like you have /etc/passwd based users. I have all my users and
That would cause a massive problem.
We do not want to have to create a user on the server for every pop account
for several reasons.
One of the main reasons we have a problem with this is that it would cause
us to create a user on the server itself for every POP account. And that
would defeat
Any idea why I might be getting these errors with this config option?
Thanks,
