Risk of running 4.9.8-1

2001-04-07 Thread Sumith Ail

Hello

I would be going on a vacation and wouldn't upgrade Vpopmail to the 4.9.10.
Currently Vpopmail 4.9.8-1 stable release is installed on our server. I hope
that there no problems in this version as far as normal functioning is
concerned.

Pls advise.

Regards
Sumith

Seperator change

2001-04-07 Thread Anil

Hi All,
I have just installed Qmail + Vpopmail + Courier POP3/IMAP Server. I Have added
around 10 Domains on the server. I am facing one problem, when i checking my mail with
Outlook Express it works fine, but when i use Netscape Messanger or Eudora Light my
mail doesn't work.

My Domain is : masterinbusiness.com
Username : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Password :

Is there any way to change e-mail seperator for Vpopmail, like if i can comvert my
user id from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to admin.masterinbusiness.com than it will
work in Netscape.
Please tell me which file to modify, for changing mail seperator.

Anil

Name error...

2001-04-07 Thread Ben Walton

Hi all,

My server has started doing something very strange with just one domain.
Every user that is setup, works fine. When you send an email to that user,
the server puts the domain name on the front of the email address
([domain]-[user]@[domain]...) eg [EMAIL PROTECTED], when it was
addresses to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ASAP on this one please - its really bugging
me!

vpopmail perl interface: new dev version available for testing.

2001-04-07 Thread Sean P. Scanlon

Greetings All,

I have been working on my perl interface to vpopmail, I have added support
for vauth_getpw() and vauth_getall().

I've also added a vlistdomains(), what this does is find all domains in
QMAILDIR/users/assign that are controlled by
uid VPOPMAILUID and gid VPOPMAILGID. I know this doesn't catch domains under
a different UID, so if you have any thoughts
about how to better implement this type of function, that would be helpful.

I'm hoping people will download and test this version:

http://bluedot.net/projects/sources/vpopmail-latest.tar.gz

Its been running like a champ on my FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE dev box, but I've
gotten mixed results testing these new functions
on Solaris-x86.

If you do download this, it would be great if you could run the
examples/coretest.pl and send me any errors along with the output of
"perl -V"

Also, I'm curious: how many people on this list are using or have downloaded
this module? CPAN doesn't provide any stats (that i'm aware of)...

Thanks,

open.smtp missing. Pop before smtp not working (of course) ;)

2001-04-07 Thread Jeremy Gray

Hello people,

I have followed the howto at:
http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail.toaster1.3.shtml
exactally, with the exception that I have installed newer
versions of some of the software where applicable.

Everything is working fine other than pop before smtp.
If I remotley try to send mail to another remote host..
(ie relaying) I get the infamous "553 sorry, that domain isn't
in my list of allowed rcpthosts" error.

I've gone through all the archives here, and one thing I've
noticed thats different, is I do NOT have a ~vpopmail/etc/open.smtp
anything. What exactally creates this file? When is it created?

Like I said, everything is working other than this. I can send mail
to other domains listed in rcpthosts (domains hosted on the box) and
I can receive mail remotely via pop just fine... but when it comes to
sending mail (AFTER I have auth'd via pop, by checking email) it just
wont work.

I've been racking my brain for the past 18 hours or so on this =(, if
anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Kaz

P.S. Remember, everything is setup as seen on
http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail.toaster1.3.shtml
My vpopmail directory is actually /vpopmail (I made a seperate
parition for vpopmail, everything has been changed to reflect
this path)
