Thanks again for helping me out. I finally decided
to use qmail-smtpd-auth that seems to be a merge of the version you told me
about with some other features that were in this original package.
I installed it with no problems at all and now I've
got SMTP AUTH working fine. :)
Thanks!

I already have courier imap installed, and now I would like to install
vpopmail. How do I let courier-imap know to use vchkpw? The FAQ is

Did I do something wrong? Can it be revived?

For anyone interested, I think I've found a way to limit imap and
webmail (squirrelmail) access separately. By default, the NO_WEBMAIL
flag was only applicable to sqwebmail. But I've modified courier-imap's
imaplogin to recognize if couriertcpd is listening on port 80 and then

Anyone tried to use courier's pop3d with vchkpw? I'm interested in a
pop3d that supports maildirquota and will update maildirsize to keep the
quota count up to date...

This is standard qmail stuff. You would setup qma
Thanks Ken!
That fixed it.
I'm still having troubles getting data inserted into the demographic table.
Is there any way to debug it? I've validated that the user/password for
mySQL works, I can do inserts using the mysql client, but no dice with
vqregister doing it automatically.

I was wondering if anyone knew what service I would use to setup a
backup mail server for a client.
We are running qmail with vpopmail5 right now. Does vpopmail handle
this? If it does, is there any documentation on how to set it up?

There is no bug in vpopmail 5.0.
I just tested it and it works fine.

Hello all,
I recently created a RH 7.2 box with the mySQL 3.23.45 RPM from mySQL.com.
I've managed to get vpopmail, qmail, qmailadmin and sqwebmail all happily
compiled, however I cannot get vqregister to compile.
The error I get is:

AUTH
Thanks
Is there anybody using SMTP AUTH with
Qmail?
Any advice about which patch to apply to Qmail and
vpopmail in order to do that?
Thanks.
