hi david what does pre-authlib-versions do? is it instead of courier-authlib? will it make courier-imap to work with vpopmail? sorry i meant that i use the older versions of courier-imap and sqwebmail that DON'T use the courier-authlib at all. (courier-imap 4.0.0 and sqwebmail 5.0.0). i use here

Well it is clear what the problem is. Have you granted privilages to the user vpopmail in your mysql database? Have you edited /home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql? /home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql is edited correctly and user vpopmail in my mysql database has not enough privileges to do this. He
