i installed qmail + vpopmail + mysql + courier-imap on a debian 3.1
with kernel 2.6.
vpopmail was configured as :
./configure --enable-logging=p --enable-auth-module=mysql \
--disable-passwd --enable-clear-passwd --disable-many-domains \
--enable-auth-logging --enable-sql-log
You need to have maildrop installed.
What I do is create a file in the user's directory called mailfilter.
Make sure it's chown 600. Then in the same directory, I put a .qmail
file and call maildrop. Like this.

Here's the way I do it using maildrop. This is called from a .qmail
file in the user's directory.
An alternative way would be to write a little wrapper script around
vadduser. Have it add the user then retrieve the directory and then
make the spam folder.
I'm also using simscan to run spamassas
