[vchkpw] pop-before-smtp issues
I have a qmail/vpopmail setup using pop-before-smtp, and the roaming is working fine for 99.9% of the users, but a very few are having problems with it. The normal forced send / recieve does not update thier IP's in the relay table, nor does deleting and recreating the accounts. I am almost positive this is a user issue, but I wanted to check the list before I lay the smack-down on some users. At first I thought it was my rbl blocking the IP's, but I have disabled it for the moment.
[vchkpw] Guidence needed for a vpopmail migration issue.
I am having some issues with a qmail+vpopmail setup that I moving to another server. Most of the accounts are working fine, however some of them give this error when an email is sent to them: Auto re-creation of maildir failed. vpopmail (#5.9.9) So I was hoping someone here could point me to howto, man page, irc channel or something to help me figure this out. The server that the data was migrated too works just fine on its own, and most of the accounts work just fine, but the accounts that give the above error also do not allow any logins at all. I have tried changing passwords and such but this has not helped.

Check the permissions on it, and make sure the path to it matches what vpopmail has in it's database (run a vuserinfo [EMAIL PROTECTED] and make sure the paths match). The paths all match, and so do the permissions. I have found that remove and re-adding the affected accounts will fix the issue. However it is NOT an elegant solution, and not one I would like to try when I have no real idea how many email accounts are effected by this. -- Kent Ritchie Corlink Communications L.L.C Customer Service 1-888-727-4305
[vchkpw] Auto re-creation of maildir failed. vpopmail (#5.9.9)
I'm building a new mail server to replace the existing one. I built the qmail+vpopmail+mysql+qmailadmin+sqwebmail setup, and it is all working. When I try and migrate the data over from the old server to the new, most accounts come over fine. However for some I get the following error: Auto re-creation of maildir failed. vpopmail (#5.9.9) Google searching the error has not been fruitful I'm afraid, I was hoping someone here could enlighten me before I go stark raving mad as this error has put me far far behind my schedule... -- Kent Ritchie Corlink Communications L.L.C Customer Service 1-888-727-4305
[vchkpw] Restricting the amount of mail accounts
How can I set vpopmail to limit the number of email accounts for a vdomain? -- Kent Ritchie Corlink Communications L.L.C Customer Service 1-888-727-4305
[vchkpw] vpopmail+mysql + changing mysql servers
I might be stupid to ask this, but I have looked online and in documentation, so I decided to ask here. I have a qmail+vpopmail setup, that authenticates through a remote mysql server. When I take the mysql server down and replace it with a different box, thats has all the data, users, grants etc on it that the previous box had, it no longer authenticates. I replace the old box, and it once again works... So, has anyone here ever made replacement like I am trying and failing to do?
