RE: [vchkpw] Vpopmail virtual domain postmaster error

2002-09-19 Thread Clayton Weise

Please post with plain text emails only, no html.

And you're almost there with the vpopmail/postmaster thing. But the
messages aren't being bounced back with [EMAIL PROTECTED],
they're being bounced back with postmaster@ followed the the value of
/var/qmail/control/me.

I vaguely remember conversation about a topic on changing the bouncefrom
address on the fly. Poke around on bluedot.net and search for the thread.
But the bounce messages aren't handled by vpopmail, they're handled by
qmail. Sorry that I don't have the answer, but it's out there..

Subject: [vchkpw] Vpopmail virtual domain postmaster error

  Hi all,

I have just configured vpopmail with qmail and I have a minor problem with
an incorrect postmaster address informing me of failed transmission. I have
the system configured for virtual domains only and have setup 3 domains. No
matter what domain I use, when a error is reported from the postmaster, it
always uses the address of the primary domain. It also prefixes the
incorrect domain name with the host name of the machine.

For example: user [EMAIL PROTECTED] sends a message that a remote
server rejects. user xxx receives a message from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] telling user xxx that there was a
problem. The message should have came from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  Can this be corrected?

Thanks in advance

George
