[vdr] Does VDR-1.7.10 support a h264 Datastream from DVB-C card?

2009-12-13 Thread Ruediger Dohmhardt
Dear list-members,

I'm uncertain about the HDTV-capability of vdr-1.7.9 (or 10).

In September, I had a sytem running, that could display the
Leichtathletik Weltmeisterschaft from Berlin,
broadcasted by ARD/ZDF in p720.
I was able to receive this via KabelDeutschland (KD) with the
channels.conf entry

ZDF
HD;ZDFvision:618000:M256:C:6900:6110:6120=deu;6122=deu:6130:0:0:1:1011:0

That system consisted of vdr-1.7.0 and the xineliboutput plugin, patched
with

vdr-1.7.0-h264-syncearly-framespersec-audioindexer-fielddetection-speedup.diff

Today (with vdr-1.7.10 and xineliboutput from cvs) I have TV from KD,
but no HD p720/i1080

My question is:

Do I have a software problem (e.g., a missing patch) or
is there simply no signal on 618MHz (I think, there is supposed to be
one between Christmas and New Years Eve).

Ciao RĂ¼diger

Re: [vdr] 1.7.x vs 1.6.x vs 1.4.x

 Hi All,

First off, I'd like to thank Klaus for his excellent work in VDR - it really
 is
the best DVB software around, and I've been using it for years.

I'm currently using 1.4.7, it works beautifully. I've tried upgrading to 1.6
but my Irdeto CAM keeps timing out and no amount of tweaking of the various
timeout defines seems to improve matters: one channel switch works, the next
doesn't, switch back it works, switch back to the same channel no go..

Mike, when upgrading from 1.4.x to 1.6.x or 1.7.x you need to modify
channel.conf with respect to decrypted channels.
Otherwise you can't watch encrypted channels.

Re: [vdr] CAM/CI Dumb Question

Question is, when you're using a CAM to decrypt channels, can it decrypt
multiple channels simultaneously like the above for FTA???

 AFAIK, yes, under certain conditions:
 1) vdr 1.5.x needed
 2) your CAM must support multiple streams
 3) your CAM must respond to query request

 Thanks

 Any known working DVB-C/CAM/CI combinations?

My combination:

Technotrend Premium C-2300
Technotrend Premium 3.5 CI
AlphaCryptLight CAM
SmartCard K02 (Kabel Deutschland)
vdr-1.4.x
