You see the problem? vdr won't let you set vps-timer #1 AND #2 , you'll have to
switch one of them to manual.

This happens occasionally - I assume it's partly the broadcaster's fault for
choosing pdc 22:20 instead of something else like 22:30, but vdr could figure
this out using event ids as a second marker. This could add some more
flexibility to vps programming.

PDC times *must* be unique within one channel - otherwise they're no good.
It's the provider's duty to choose them correctly.

The Redmine repo browser is broken though ("Repository" tab at the top
of http://projects.vdr-developer.org/projects/vdr).  But this doesn't
seem to be limited to this project, others' Redmine browsers are
affected as well.

Shouldn't different event id make sure this doesn't happen?

You can clone a git repository of all released versions of VDR:
$ git clone git://projects.vdr-developer.org/vdr.git

There used to be a Web-Access to that repository too, but currently it doesn't

I have an own mirror of that which is accessible via Git-Web on

There's a change in RunningStatusPausing between 1.3.9 and 1.5.0:

the only reference I found is in epg.c:

grep -rhI "SI::RunningStatusPausing" vdr-1.3.9/

return runningStatus >= (OrAboutToStart ?
SI::RunningStatusStartsInAFewSeconds : SI::RunningStatusPausing);
if (CheckRunningStatus && p->RunningStatus() >=
SI::RunningStatusPausing)
else if (RunningStatus >= SI::RunningStatusPausing &&
p->RunningStatus() > SI::RunningStatusNotRunning)

if (RunningStatus >= SI::RunningStatusPausing)
   if (p->RunningStatus() >= SI::RunningStatusPausing) {

grep -rhI "SI::RunningStatusPausing" vdr-1.5.0/

return runningStatus >= (OrAboutToStart ?
SI::RunningStatusStartsInAFewSeconds : SI::RunningStatusPausing);
if (p->SeenWithin(RUNNINGSTATUSTIMEOUT) && p->RunningStatus() >=
SI::RunningStatusPausing)
else if (RunningStatus >= SI::RunningStatusPausing &&
p->StartTime() < Event->StartTime())

if (p->RunningStatus() >= SI::RunningStatusPausing)
   if (p->RunningStatus() >= SI::RunningStatusPausing) {
   if (p->RunningStatus() >= SI::RunningStatusPausing)

I test this against a "vps" capable broadcaster, using accurate

All places where

SI::RunningStatusPausing

is handled are potential candidates.

Do note, though, that this can only work with channels that broadcast
a PDCDescriptor and thus allow VDR to work with "VPS".

I don't think VDR should pause in this case. At least I don't want to trust that
this is always correct. If VDR would support this, then this would even allow
broadcasters to deny recording at all.
