You want to go from a windows master to a Unix master.. ho boy! Been there Done that. If you want to bring your database with you, then yes, you will need to use Symantec services to do the migration... otherwise they will not support you... or so they told me. I had issues with

Consider this a posting then Ed. =) Did several Windows 2003 to Solaris 10 migrations at my old employer of huge (1+ TB) NetBackup 6.5.x Masters, including keeping the catalog info and changing the hostnames. Spent a few weeks with rsync copying stuff from the Windows Master to a new Solaris
