Hi William Well I believe I got it sorted, simply by using the GUI and changing the format of the drive from HCART3 to HCART. Attempted a restore, tape loaded, data recovered and its all there :-) I did not need to change the volume name, because this was a month end, with a retention of 12

The status 134 means there aren't enough tape drives to handle all the requests. In particular, this looks like a duplication right? If you run backups and duplications at the same time, the scheduler (pre-6.0) isn't fully aware of duplications and also, doesn't track the drive usage in a

Your loop below searches the media servers for a volDB, not a list of master servers. vmquery is specific to the volume database, there's only one per environment and it's usually on the master server. Frozen/suspended is per media server, but the volDB contains everything else. This is ugly
