David, Turn off max concurrent jobs, or set to higher number. Also select allow multiple data streams in policy attributes in the schedule. In Change storage unit, make sure you've selected maximum multiplexing per drive to 5 or 6. You'll have to restart the services to get the changes to work.

We are currently backing up a system with LTO gen 1 drives/media and trying to recover using LTO gen 2 drives (LTO 1 drives are IBM and LTO 2 drives are HP). We are using NBU 4.5 and when the LTO 1 tapes are loaded into the gen 2 drive, the drives are downed. Any ideas what can be causing this

To the best of my knowledge, you should not need to. Once the robot / library is powered off and the new slots are installed, the robot will do its own inventory. Once that's completed, run an Inventory on the robot in Netbackup to make sure it can see the slots. No additional changes that I
