Sounds like the master server doesn't like it. As a quick test, check the host properties of the master, check the SERVERS, and where you have additional servers, add the machine name to it. Make sure the client is talking to the correct Master Server too! Look at the client properties too.

If it is a UNIX system, check that the bp.conf file has the master server, and all the media servers listed. Be sure the DNS forward and reversse lookups are all working. On Windows the systems list is found under FileSpecify Netbackup Machnines and Policy Type =

On another note, you shouldn't have to be running bpnbat -loginmachine every time it should just be bpnbat -login. the -loginmachine is for nbu servers to authenticate, and I think by default those do not expire. You can do bpnbat -login non-interactively, type bpnbat -help to get the

Is there some kind of switch or router between the client and backup server that might only be 100mbps capable? 10MB/sec is usually pretty suspect because that is about the number you'll get with a 100Mbps connection somewhere in the data path. It sounds like you are getting full bandwidth
