NetBackup_6.5_LinuxRedhat2.6.tar.gz is the server install version, what you
want is one of the client tar's. I do not have the correct name of the client
tar off hand.

Sounds like you might be getting there, but it's not getting back. Make sure
your firewall to the DMZ is open both ways for the NetBackup ports. Try using
vnetd if your pre v6.x.

Check to see if any libraries are missing as far as NetBackup bpcd is
concerned, run:
ldd /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpcd
and see what is missing.

Hi,
It looks like Netbackup does recognize the logical volumes as separate
drives but it doesn't recognize the partitions on it as being the actual
local drives. This causes for example /usr1 and every directory below to
be backed up, INCLUDING /usr1/XX and /usr1/XX and /usr1/XXX, while

I know in windows there is a .bat file that creates all your log directories, is there something similar for Linux clients?! My /usr/openv/netbackup/logs director is empty except for user_ops.

There should be a readme file there as well that would detail what log does
what.
Unfortunately, the script that comes with windows creates log directories for
everything, even items you don't need. There isn't anything for automated

I just noticed that
a Linux client was setup with the Linux hardware when it really has Intel. Will
it make a difference during a restore, because backups
