names in any info we have to send to support - so was wondering if any
one has any scripts that will strip these out of the log files? We're

Does anyone have any advice about using NetBackup LiveUpdate? I've read the
chapter in the Admin Guide and it is a bit thin on examples. I've trawled
Symantec Connect which does have some useful comment, not least to avoid upper
or mixed case in the path to any shares.

A little late to the party but .. currently we are running FalconStor with
OST on AIX running NBU 6.5.4 right now and love it. We are running a
Datalink is our support organization for our NetBackup support, and I do
have a case open with them. I am in the process of collecting logs and
waiting for it to happen again, which is an issue in itself. I have to
clear out the logs daily to avoid locking up the database.

The ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES directive keeps you from having to know all the drives
local to a client. In windoze, it will also grab the system state/shadow copy
components. You use it to simply catch everything that is local to the client
instead of having to know ALL of the details of the client.

Hi we use ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES on our UNIX boxes with an exclude list. I gets
all the files we need without having to
specify different folders for each UNIX system. We have 325 UNIX servers,
it really saves time

ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES doesn't grab the SYSTEM_STATE/SHADOW_COPY_COMPONENTS for my
Windows clients. At least it never used to? I had to explicitly put those
in my file list. Most of my policies were created under 5.x, now running
6.5.6. Maybe something has been ":fixed".

Ok, slight correction
2003 servers it gets Shadow Copy Components:\
2008 servers it gets System_State:\
(but that could be dependent on vsp or vss - not sure)
But my policies say All-Local_Drives and it has gotten theses.

Sybase -- single thread prior to NBU 7.0, and multi-thread in 7.0 and above.
NBU 7.0 has better performance as a result.
