i support a small environment of backing up 15 or so servers to LTO-4 tape
using netbackup 6.5. keep some tapes onsite, recycle others and send one
offsite every month. nothing high tech.

I can't make this restore work - and it's possible that it can't be done. But
here goes.
Our SAN was originally presented as a mapped drive on a Windows server. So we
had MS-WINDOWS policy types for backing up content. Now we have a new SAN with
NDMP backup accelerator.
Is there a way to succ
Just create a temporary mount from a windows media server
and perform the restore.

workstations. If we use the Windows Backup and Restore utility on the Windows
backup host the restore works fine.

Their is a known bug in v7.1x with doing restores with Flashbackup policies.
You may want to make sure that you can telnet to ports 443 and 902 from the
master and media server to the V-center host and ESX box. During backup the
master sends v-storage API to the v-center host which tells the ESX
10 matches
