Is this detection different from the older versions? I recall that 3.x
used to check every 5 minutes or so for paths that have come back. Does
4.1 change this?

Hi Sanjay,
What we have heard is that DMP will fail to re-enable a failed path
whereas
PowerPath does. So when connecting to Clariions this becomes an
issue
because Clarrions offer active/passive SAN connection. This however
is
not an issue with Symmetrixes. I have also heard from after

Can you clarify what you mean by "active-active" on a clariion?

Here is the bottom line to PowerPath vs. DMP...we just gone through the same
internal debate when DMXs rolled in.
When to use PowerPath:
1) You do not want finger pointing between vendors when trying to resolve
issues between App-->OS-->HBA Drivers-->HBA-->Storage path!
2) Meet the minimum system
Hi Sanjay --
In my opinion /observation PowerPath is a better fit with
Clariion than Veritas DMP (v 4.1). Even though Veritas DMP
provides even load balancing across multiple HBAs (after
the PointPatch is installed) but it does generates the
"offline"
bogus messages for every secondary pat
