I melt with the cautery with no problems. Any left over plastic will simply
burn off the end of it when you are done..just push the on button with
nothing on the end. I don't think the cautery cares what i burns and melts.
When you use the cautery,just hold it really close to the end of the mono
PS: have a cold piece of metal and just push the end of the hot mono onto it
if you want a flat eye.
