p; push it far enough to cut the point off, barb was mashed down but
wouldn’t back out. I still have the fly, kept it as the one that caught a
turkey.

It did sting when it first went in. After that it didn't bother me.
Several years ago Susan my wife was with me when I got stuck.
The fly was buried. I asked her to help me get it out because I couldn't
get a good grip on it. She took one look at it and said: "I'm not touching
that."
