Rit dye?? What happened is that my son had some dark purple demin material he
wanted dyed black. He added TWO boxes of Rit dye to the three gallons or so of

Feathers and cotton do not dye the same way. Best has full instructions and
will take you through it step by step.

Black is a color even pro dyers have problems getting! It's quite a problem.
It depends on what you intend to use the dyed material for, and what final
qualities it must have, but...
I found the easiest solution is to use women's hair dye, the boxed typed
sold for women's hair

barbs would be closer in their composition than demin etc anyway. I’ll try it.

Spirit River plant and warehouses in Glide, Oregon.
The Spirit River dyeing plant is overseen by the EPA, as their dyeing
process uses chemicals that are not available to most people.

I've only dyed grizzly hackle one time. I had several grizzly saddles of
various quality where I had used up most of the good dry fly hackle and had
found an old Ukrainian Easter Egg kit my grandmother had used to make the eggs.
There were several packets of dye left including black.
