Chuck, I have one with a flexible arm over my tying desk made especially for vises. You can check it out at http://www.nor-vise.com. I use it in combo with a big magnifying one. Thanks for letting us know about this Allan. Hope Don and his entourage are back soon and Cheryl and the guys are ok too. Don is having brain surgery today (assuming they can find his brain instead of Buggs' or Veronica's). Don has been having severe pain from trigeminal neuralgia, which is a pain more severe than about any other pain a person can have. To correct it, they are going to have to open his skull and work past his brain (actually move it aside) to get to the trigeminal nerve. Once there they will correct the problem. I assume that means clip the nerve. Then they will reassemble his skull. It will be a 2 hour (plus or minus) surgery and he'll be in the hospital at least a couple of days. In the good old days he would have been in the hospital a week or two. Re: [VFB] Tying Light Maybe?????
I have the Ott light that is very similar. I love the light but miss having a long flexible arm on my light so I can position it where I want. My sister gave it to me so that is what I use. The Ott light keeps colors pretty true which is nice and seems to be easy on the eyes. But if I were getting one I would go with a longer flexible arm. Re: [VFB] Tying Light Maybe?????
Look carefully at the light. The bulb should be two long tubes. A single tube will not give you the light you need. I found that without the flexible shaft that I could not position the light from the foldable light where I needed it to tie well without it shining in my eyes. Re: [VFB] Tying Light Maybe?????
I have one like that, sitting on a shelf. It provides plenty of light, but I found that it was too short, I had to clamp it to something to make it work. Ott lights are great. Yes, they are expensive, but I find them in the craft stores, and use those 40% off coupons that are usually in the Sunday paper. If you have a Frye's, an electronics store, I find them, and the bulbs, much cheaper than elsewhere. jack Austin Chuck Alexander wrote: Has anybody tried to tie with one of these???
