Anyone have any suggestions on where I can find holographic laminates
or vinyls for crease flies?
I am looking for 8 x 12 or 12 x 12 sheets in silver and gold with the
sparkle pattern and the prismatic pattern. They can be adhesive backed
or heat transfer type materials. Most of my searches come
testing. Anybody out there?

I have seen the sheets in Craft stores on the East Coast. I think one of the
stores was Michaels.

I have just returned from a week long fishing trip to a lake that I have never
fished before. It is a good sized and attractive lake with gin clear water. It
is known as a very technical lake. The fishing was not as hot as I was
hoping and one had to work hard to catch fish. The first night
Some say I'm waaay out there! LOL

I agree Tony.
A few years ago I got the holographics I used in the crease fly swap at either
Michael's or Hobby Lobby here in South East Texas.

If at first you don't succeed, maybe you shouldn't try sky diving!

I haven't been able to find the foil at any of the craft stores around here.
This may be what you're looking for.

They appear to be the source for most of the foils I've seen in fly shops or at
the local fly fishing shows. These are transfer foils
That seems like an odd way to fish a fly.

Wish I could get out and fish. The river has been down for the past two weeks
during the day. From what I hear there has been a lot of large Browns caught.
My boat is still out of the water and I have to find someone to get it out of
the yard and back in the dock. I also have to come up with a
I was fishing two rods but only one fly per rod. We are allowed to do that in
BC if alone in a boat, but we cannot have more than one fly per rod. I fished a
floating line with a 23 foot 6 pound fluorocarbon leader on the main rod and
the sinking line for just part of the trip as stated below.
At Hobby Lobby I've seen a varied selection of metallic, holographic, or
iridescent ribbons.
