AVI files only I think. Once you've tagged each file -- easy peasy -- you select which folders you want to have included in your search. It also offers a groovy time line slider which will allow you to view files by the creation date(indpendent of data you enter). So if I created video files in 2008 I can slide along the time line and with it progress through the year and I'll get files added to my search results. [videoblogging] DIY video ads
Hi all, My company just put out a DIY video ad creation tool. In a nutshell you sign up, put one line of javascript on your site, and enable visitors to create video ads directly on your site with money coming directly to you. You have complete control over the ad packages offered (i.e. $100 per week, $20 CPM, $0.50 CPC) and the look of the tool (via css). If you'd like to give it a shot on your site, ping me and I'll give you the URL to signup. Josh (Yes, it's been a while since I've posted/responded. And, well, some of you may view this as spamish. But, I sincerely hope some of you find this of use.)

[videoblogging] Re: Interesting video interview about the future of online video adv
We're not an ad network. We're an ad agency...albeit similar to the Starbucks of Ad Agencies (i.e. we have a set menu of advertisements, that a client can then customize to his liking). Put simply, we charge for the video creation, so we're not going after the same dollars that you (the videoblogger) are. How much of the ad dollars you get will depend on who you're using to distribute your videos and what they provide as rev share. That said, we are working with a couple of videobloggers who are going it alone. In such instances our fees depend on if we're providing the ad serving and placement service (pre/mid/post-roll), or simply the hooks to get an advertiser's video created, paid for, and then passed along to you. Feel free to contact me off list if you'd like to chat, or we can keep the conversation going here. -- Josh Hello, Whats the rev. share? 80/20? The doctors are now trying to determine if he has sustained any brain damage and to what extent. I have made a personal video, and posted it at: http://www.joshpaul.com/?p=263 Feel free to watch the video, and if you're so inclined, leave a comment on Joey's update blog (link is in image form on my post...trying to avoid spambots) which the family is reading. Also, if you make a video, I will burn it to DVD and show it to my family over the next week. Warm regards, Josh

Re: [videoblogging] The innocence of the vlogosphere is at an end
Look at podcasting...just wait until traditional media jumps in. We'll all have our different approaches, from the youngest person videoblogging to stay in touch with family in another country, to the largest corporation trying to garner as many eyeballs as it can (worldwide!). People will make money by producing content, software, hardware, hosting, etc. Others will produce content for the sheer joy of it, knowing they have access to the production tools and distribution system that has been out of reach for too long. In all cases though, the world will become smaller and more connected, and everyone will (hopefully) have the opportunity to contribute criticism, news, and entertainment to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. It puts a smile on my face. Define it however you want. I'm just excited to see it happening. Play nice, and do business without suddenly going 'Business is business' and becoming all cynical. Let us remember that we all have good intentions. Also, let us not close our eyes to what is going on.
Re: [videoblogging] The first Videoblogging book (was: The innocence of the vlogosphere is at an end)
Okay, I'm a little biased so feel free to take this post with a grain of salt. But, even before I wrote for O'Reilly, I had more of their (his?) books than I could count off the top of my head. The distribution is wide, the quality is high, and there's definitely a level of respect and validation given to the titles. Not to mention the amount of support the company provides its authors (I've spoken to people who've written for other publishers). I think the Hacks series is great, I own at least four of them, and I think it is also one of their more popular series. So, it makes sense to me that they put Video Blogging there. The more people who get involved, the better. Right? I'm hoping that those who contribute are able to push themselves and this new medium to even greater heights. Re: [videoblogging] Apple Store demos
(sorry about that attachment earlier) I'd like to do both, introduce and teach. I think the beginning of the presentation should introduce the concepts, and hopefully attract some attention from people wandering the store. Then progress to showing them how to do it. hairbrained idea We could possibly set up a vlog where each session actually creates a video in-store and uploads it to the site. That way people attending the session would hopefully go home, view the footage, and tell their friends about it. /hairbrained idea Obviously I'm motivated to create the outline, as I've recently arranged to present at a store (but it won't be until September). Since I'm already going to do it, I figured I might as well both seek help and contribute back. The reason I'm suggesting to use Keynote, is because the store will provide the presentation system. - josh On Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at 06:30PM, Jay dedman [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: To those of you who have given in-store demos, is there a certain outline you've followed to introduce people to the process?
