[videoblogging] Support amazing filmmaker in NYC

2007-06-19 Thread contactmica
Hello!

I am really thrilled to invite you to the premiere screenings of The
New York 48 Hour Film Project! I can honestly say that this is one of
the most exciting and fun events I have ever been a part of and I hope
any of you in New York will come out this Wed and Thursday to
celebrate these courageous filmmakers.

Here's how it went down..

Last Friday, 49 teams of filmmakers gathered together to pull their
genres out of a green hat and were given a prop, a character and a
line of dialog to incorporate into their films. All films were
produced in 48 hours with volunteer cast and crew. The filmmakers who
participated this year are talented and incredibly diverse in about
any way you can imagine.

Trust me, you will be impressed with what they came up with in 48
hours! And hopefully inspired to get involved next year??

For more details:
http://www.48hourfilm.com/newyork/

PLEASE JOIN US this week for the Screenings

When:
Wednesday and Thursday, June 20 and 21

Group B: Wednesday, June 20 - 2nd show - 9:30 pm
Group C: Thursday, June 21 - 1st show - 7:00 pm
Group D: Thursday, June 21 - 2nd show - 9:30 pm

Where
Landmark's Sunshine Cinema
143 East Houston Street on the Lower East Side
(212) 330-8182

Tickets can be purchased at the door or at www.MoviePhone.com
Tickets will sell out, so be sure to get your tix early!

PS

If you are looking for a good story, bring your video cameras and
interview filmmakers, cast, crew - I am sure many will be happy to
share tales of their wild sleepless weekend of filmmaking.

I am pretty much using this camera exclusively for my daily blogging.
All the walking videos on my blog, posted in the past few weeks were
filmed with the Flip camera:
http://publicaddress.typepad.com/

I love it.
It has revived my daily video taping habit...for better or worse!

Yeah, that is how I was seeing this camcorder as well. There are many
people who want to shoot video but are fearful of computers and
editing. They have stories to tell but they need an easy user
experience.

Point, click and upload is about as much as some of them are going to
be willing to handle. I love my Xacti C40 too but I want to be able
to offer other options to those users that need something simple to
 start shooting video.

Simple video does not have to be bad or expensive.

Hello Vloggers!
I haven't been on this list in a while but always impressed by all the
action and dialog here.

cities in the US and 11 countries abroad. This year's event will take

Hope some of you will make it.

Here are more details!

mania, where teams of renegade filmmakers create short films at
break-neck speed, compete for prizes and a chance to participate in a
national filmmaking showdown!

Tuesday May 8th from 6-8pm @ Paqioto's Restaurant 143 First Avenue at
9th street Meet your local producer (that's me!) and get the scoop
from filmmakers who have participated in past competitions.

Find out how to form a team or join a team in need . We need talented
writers, Directors, DPs, actors, comedians, improvisers, class clowns,
producers, editors, musicians, sound engineers, makeup artists,
costume designers, friends, family, pets …you get the idea.

Thousands of filmmakers all over the world have participated in the
The 48 Hour Film Project. Professionals and amateurs alike love The 48
Hour Film Project for its focus on filmmakers' creativity and teamwork
skills and emphasis on doing instead of talking.

All films will be screened theatrically in NYC and compete for a host

[videoblogging] Most favorite vlogs

2006-04-06 Thread contactmica
Hello -
I noticed the thread on favorite vlogs going on and I wanted to take a
minute to explain a little more about The Public Address Network (aka
The PAN) , because it's a really good place to find new stuff to watch.
I started it because I wanted to see all of my favorite videos in one
place and I wanted to see them develop and bump into each other and
pretend that that's what tv actually is.. could be?
It's pretty much why I never have time to post here anymore.
I am totally obsessed with it, consumed.
You may even say in love.

Actually, what we are doing is quite simple
Adam Quirk ( http://www.bullemhead.com )
and myself have teamed up with
some of the most amazing vlogger-artist-filmmakers and friends
( http://www.thepan.org/contributors/ )
to create this daily videopodcast/videoblog.

Each day one of us pulls together a 15 min stream of videos from anywhere.
Usually highlighting work from videoblogs as well as other video
makers who may not have a daily feed of content on their site.
We also include all kinds of video oddities and rare finds from the
depths of the web.
We also make new things, just for The PAN audience!
And there is MUCH more to come!

So please, stop by, check out some links, leave us a comment or two.
feel free to take borrow of our signature promo videos from the
library ( http://www.thepan.org/promos/)
and do with it what you will.

[videoblogging] Squeeze Remix Video Game Vlog Feed

2005-11-21 Thread contactmica
Hello fellow vloggers, colaborators, experimenters, artists, comrades
etc..

I have created a new feed for the Squeeze project.

you can subscribe with this link:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/squeezevideo

What is the Squeeze project?
Well, it all began about a year ago, when I made this post
http://publicaddress.typepad.com/hello/2004/12/counting.html

then my friend Charlene made a remix of it and then I made a remix of
her video and so on and so forth.

you can see a video of me explaining it at last years vlogger con here:

http://publicaddress.typepad.com/mica_vcon.mov

I have now archived all of the existing Squeeze videos
and I invite you to join in and make your own.

I will add them to the cue. A new remix appears each and every Monday
until the video implodes on itself or twirls into infinity.

I even made it its very own blog:

http://publicaddress.typepad.com/squeeeze

So, watch, enjoy, remix, play, vlog..

Thanks!
m
