[videoblogging] Re: Freedom of Speech Watch How you Say it. Call For Help

My good friend runs the American Civil Liberties Union out of Bemidji,
MN. I'm headed home/MN this Sunday to work on the White Earth
Reservation at a wild food gathering. I could introduce you to my
friend next week if you want/have time (email me offline).

As someone noted earlier, there's always 2 sides to every storybut
here here to keeping independent media/voice alive! I would imagine
that as opinions and information are more easily accessible to the
general public, these kinds of scenarios might happen with more
frequency..?. But it also means they'll get exposed more quickly.

Howdy folks! So, in answer to my question about rotating vertical
video in iMovie.

http://www.imovieplugins.com/plugs/turnclip.html

This free iMovie plug-in allows you to cleanly rotate video clips 90,
180, or 270. My first try was with a $3 plug-in called simple rotate.
This one continually rotates the clip and its acid-trip feel wasn't
quite what I was going for. I actually couldn't figure out how to get
a few of my clips to stop using it, so my very first videoblog is
interesting to say the least. Anyhoo, it was fun to do my first
videoblog and I'm excited about doing more. Would love feedback/tips/etc.

[videoblogging] Vertical video rotation in iMovie

Howdy folks!

I'm trying to make my first videoblog and have hit a roadblock. Am so
used to shooting stills that I shot a bunch of my stuff verticle on my
new Sony Handycam DCR-HC28.aaah! So I downloaded simplerot ($3
plug-in allowing you to rotate clips in iMovie) and can't get it to
just stop at 90 degrees...it keeps rotating for the length of the clip.

Someday I'll laugh about it!
Any suggestions?

Howdy folks,

Hello from Topanga Canyon, CA! My name is Sunny. I'd like to start doing video
blogging. I
filmed, edited (taught myself Final Cut Pro) and produced a 28-minute
documentary last
year through a local public television station. Loved the medium of film and am
really
wanting to start doing a video blog every other week on my website: http://
wildfoodplants.com/ You can view the documentary under my Bio.

I'm going to be teaching at a wild food gathering in MN during Pixelodeon, so
am going to
take this opportunity to pitch. What I'm really wanting to put together is a
team of people
to do a video blog project. I'm planning to travel around the US highlighting
folks doing
wild food stuff and primitive skills. I want to show people how to do the
skills, not just talk
about how Joe Blow is an expert. I've got enough of the technical video nuts
bolts under
my belt to know that I don't want to do it all myself. Kind of the spinXpress
vision that I've
seen online...transfering video from the field to folks working on the project.
I have
secured some funding to get things going. Anyone interested? Producers,
editors,
musicians to mix music, webmasters, etc.

I'll start to try figuring things out to post a video using iMovie.

cheers, ~sunny
