Yes, we do allow people to upload video from cell phones.
Both companies have trademarks pending. We're going to work on it,
and that's about the best I can say right now.
Yours,
Mike

the characterization of bliptv.com as a whore or of its principals as

Can you folks please justify
Deliberately taking on a popular brand name within an industry that
you want to breka into, and then using it for the purposes of
confusing customers into believing that you're the more popular and
reputable company is generally considered whore-worthy.

Well we don't know that they chose their name *after* our beloved
blip.tv did ... we found them much later, but who knows how long they
have been calling themselves that?

unless blip.tv has been doing there thing for 4 years, it appears that bliptv.com has been using the name to some extent related to video since then... the contact people are the same today as they were in 2002... the earliest version of the site i could find.

Hey guys,
First of all, let me say that we're aware of bliptv.com. I don't
think I should say very much about the issue at the moment, but we're
doing what we can (in regular consultation with our lawyers) to deal
with the situation.
I don't think anyone was out to hurt anyone or otherwise do

I have questions about the name, has our Blip.tv been trademarked
protected? Has it been established longer that the

Blip.tv also supports mobile uploads. I wouldn't say its only for
desktop citizens.

I've never had to endure Sprint, but I'm not a fan of companies stealing
the name of other companies. It creates confusion and the blip.tv guys

similarity IS causing customer confusion, which is exactly what
trademark exists to prevent.
