That's very odd, I just brought it in on my iMac, and it works fine.
I did re-ftp the file into archive.org, but how can that screw things up?

yes, maybe that baseline switch was it
so I've redone The Chalets in QT7 using h.264 baseline 320x240 @480kbps
and AAC @128kbps, and renamed that to .m4v
