Any use of OBJECT, EMBED, or APPLET tags in updated Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0 and beta IE7 will display just as before, but will require
an initial click before accepting user interactivity.
This is similar

Actually, content does display just as before. Video still plays, no
difference. It's only the passing of user events (mouse, keyboard) from
browser to plugin which first has that new

Hi all,
I had to deal with this pretty extensively at my day
Yes, it doesn't matter what plug-in you're using, it is *any* use of
EMBED, OBJECT or APPLET tags within the actual HTML. To be clear: it
only affects Internet Explorer 6 users on Windows.
I haven't looked at Macromedia (Adobe)'s site but I think someone else
posted a link to their official tip
So this isn't a problem with IE 7? Will people be able to do the old way once everyone (not that it'll happen) upgrades to IE 7?-VerdiOn 4/16/06, T. Whid

That's a good question and looks like from what I can tell from doing
some quick research that it will affect IE 7.
See this:

I would plan on it happening with IE 7. Creating embeds and objects
via js is a pain to implement if you're not

All righty then... a quick recap and a couple of my own questions.
This affects MS Internet Explorer users only, Windows only, and apparently
both IE6 (April 11 update) and IE7 beta (according to Microsoft) -- though
not everyone using IE7 has seen
well pop-ups that pop-up because the user clicked a link wont be blocked, so we're ok there.
I'd imagine the _javascript_ thing can use custom poster frames no
problem. I'm not using Enric's but rather one I wrote, and it
works fine with whatever poster frame I want to use. I've also
played

Thanks, David. I hope this is the case. I've helped a fair number of
people in a support environment where they don't get a pop-up they're
expecting,
well maybe I'm not understanding the use of poster frame here ... but my site uses custom image place holders and aseperate _javascript_ file and I'm ok.
I'm now able to see the error on Stephanie's page(http://mortaine.blogspot.com/), but it doesnt happen on my site (http://www.davidmeade.com

I think it may still be an optional download (though not for long).
To get it, use IE and select tools-Windows Update ... chose the
custom option, and select the optional software updates (these dont get
downloaded unless selected)On 4/16/06, Devlon [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
