I can buy a multi-region/PAL/NTSC for the library. But the problem is when
faculty want to use it in class. We cannot get a multi-region player for every
classtoom.

Without any evidence I suspect this is a clerical snafu and would bet that
an NTSC DVD copy will be released at the same time. I guess we'll see on or

The original request had to do with VHS cassettes, not DVDs.
I think that any computer DVD player will play a PAL DVD. VLC is special
because it plays any region.
