Unless I am mistaken, ALL of the DVDs from Warner Archive are DVD-R. The
quality seems excellent but it is correct that they do not play in all players
- and may not work in all computers. The problem is that one cannot obtain
these titles elsewhere, and many of them are really significant.
Yes, the Warner Archive titles are all DVD-R but they've got chapter stops
and some of their DVD-Rs include theatrical trailers and other material. The
Columbia/Sony DVD-R titles have recently been made available on the Warner
Archive site too, which is nice.

We loan videos that do not have a huge in-house demand to Texas
libraries. Sometimes beyond. The pricier ones we tend to keep here. We
rarely buy titles that have serious restrictions unless they are crucial
to our workforce training department, for instance.
