Hi all recently I've just acquired Powerbook 1400cs in quite OK condition.
I'd like to perform fresh system installation - all the floppies with System 7
ready but every time I start with the installation it says that System can't be
installed.
Is there some special version of OS or ?

Aah you're right - was trying to install one prior 7.5.3
Here comes other question then - is there any way to get 7.5.3 as floppy images

Yea the conner drive has every reason to not work. I slapped my scsi card
in my gaming rig for a few to see how bad it was. Just about every other
sector of the drive was damaged. I couldnt even reassign everything before
getting a stack overflow.
My quantum on the other hand is perfectly fine.
Unless you are going for originality, I would use 7.6

I dunno how the list breaks that down. I do it by processor. I have had OSX

As suspected. Too bad about the Conner. The issue with the Quantum will prove
to be that with only 800k drives to work with, you have
to find a Micromat, etc. third party drive initializer. They almost ALL were

I use the 7.5 Network Access Disk and either a PowerMac or my NAS to
install most system software these days. The NAD should be on the Apple old
software page, IIRC.
