A couple of things...
1. The dos card for the Centris/Quadra 610 and the power Macintosh 6100 are
both 040 PDS cards so the short answer is yes, it will work - BUT...
2. The PDS slots in the 610 and 6100 are different - so the riser cars that the
dos card fits in is different.

I believe it will run without a battery.
Go to an electronics or automotive supply store and buy a high grade
electronics cleaner/contact cleaner that is plastics safe. It will neutralize
the acid and remove it. Let it dry overnight and it should be good as new.

Otherwise, wasn't there a PPC upgrade for the LC 575? If so I know a LC 575

performa 600 from yesteryear. Complete with everything even an Ethernet card.
To my surprise, the pram battery hasn't exploded ad there were not any leaking
caps. I plugged it in and it fired right up into system 7.5
is in perfect condition and I can make backup .

Ok this is seriously depressing me. I have my very first Mac ever... (And I
have been using it since I got it - productively at work I might add) and
today... The screen locked up. I restarted it and nothing! Green light, no
bong... Nothing on the display... The hard drive runs fine... It took a

knows. Doesn't mean it didn't just die.
The lights on the keyboard do flash on and off, but I have no idea if the
computer does that or the keyboard does.

It was asked a while back (and forgive me, my career is torture at the moment -
better than bit having work in this economy) how I got the dos card in the
centris and how I managed to use an AV card in a centris.
The dos
I have both a 16/600 and LWP 630 still in service (since 1997 and 1994) and
they work flawlessly - on my centris 610 with system 7.1 on it on up to my Mac
Pro with 10.7
Both printers will use HP 98a or 98X cartridges still readily available at any
office supply store.

I still use a centris 610 and a quadra 700 daily for work... Mainly because my
company is too damn cheap for "modern" software but secretly, I love that these
two macs do the job BETTER than my windows 7 pc did!

needed to get at that database. Hope a weekend powered off will take care of it
again. Shouldn't have left it on over night but hey It happens. It still
boots 7.5.1 faster than my pc boots windows 7.

I have an odd problem... I have been able to burn CD's for my vintage macs from
my PC's without issue, but tonight I did it from my powerbook G4 and my centris
610 rejected the cd saying the format was too new... Never saw that before.

My Quadra 650 is my page layout machine - complete with 17" multiple scan
display. Has 136mb ram and a 10gb disk. Runs PageMaker and a ton of other
titles. This machine is going to need caps soon I suspect because it

drive with multiple partitions in mine. I also still have the working 500mb

and surprisingly cheap to fix. I would look up maccaps.com (I've used him-
